Training Opportunities in the CRG

EAA certificate

Because the CRG is a recognized Training institute for the EAA (European Association for Andrology), you can obtain a qualification in andrology at level 1. On the EAA website, click on 'education' to read more.

In order to obtain an EAA certificate, you are required to work for two years in a training institute. This too is possible at the CRG, but it is important to know that there are no funds forseen for this training. Candidates must therefore be financially independent.

Organogram

1 to 1 seminaries

Every year, the CRG organizes one-to-one seminars for interested students, researchers and doctors (often from overseas), about assisted fertilization techniques and PGD, which include one or two day visits to the labs.

Work placements for midwives

The CRG cooperates closely with the midwifery department of Erasmushogeschool Brussel.

Midwifery training is autonomous and specific and prepares students for the occupation of midwife. Once they graduate, bachelors in midwifery have the authority to act autonomously within the framework of a normal pregnancy and normal delivery. However, if there are any complications in the prenatal process or if there are (fertility) problems, specific diagnosis techniques and treatments are required as well as information and guidance. In this case, the midwife becomes part of a multidisciplinary team. Because of increased technical issues and specialisation, midwives are expected to show more expertise, competence and scientific proficiency. That is where the three-year training course at Erasmushogeschool comes in, both at a theoretical level and in practical skills training.

This is why all midwifery students complete work placements at the CRG fertility clinic, both in the consultation department and the CRG nursing unit.
